Insensitive Munitions

Insensitive Munitions Trials can be carried out across a full range of tests as described in STANAG 4439 and AOP39 necessary in the IM classification of Ordnance. For tests in support of UK MoD contracts, the STANAGs are carried out in accordance with Def Stan 00-35 where appropriate.

A typical suite of standard tests performed on the munition would be:

• Bullet Attack to STANAG 4241
• Fragment Attack to STANAG 4496
• Slow Heating to STANAG 4382
• Liquid Fuel Fire to STANAG 4240
• Sympathetic Reaction to STANAG 4396
• Safety Drop testing to STANAG 4375

• Shaped Charge Jet Attack
• Rapid Decompression
